Keeping in Shape

Monday, March 30th, 2009

So I mentioned that I ran the Nearly Naked Mile and you probably saw the news article. Well, you couldn’t tell from the online article but I made front page!

I thought there might be some cool pictures posted but there weren’t. I guess it (I) was a little too risque. My friend Cameron and I rolled into this big lecture hall clothed in our donatable clothes and then stripped down throwing our garments into the collection bags.

My friends got me to go and try to win the costume section. I lost to some guy (fully clothed) as one of the knights from Monty Python. Nice idea but too many clothes.

Here we are posing for the Purdue cable TV channel. I’m digging the girls expressions in the background.

I don’t think that I’ll forget the girl reporting calling the photographer over on her cell phone kinda awestruck and dumbfounded at what I was (or wasn’t?) wearing. “You gotta get a picture of this even if we don’t publish it.” Hmm, I wonder how many 8×10 glossies there are of me rolling around out there now.

My Own Planet A La The Little Prince

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

I saw a tutorial last week on how to make these pictures and so I had to go out and get the appropriate material to make one! It seems so fitting that I actually just read the Little Prince. I think I got the message but I don’t really understand why everyone makes such a big deal out of it.

I used this panorama of the area as well. Not really all that interesting. It’d be really cool to do from Galata Tower in Istanbul. I guess I’ll have to do that next time I’m there.

I ran the Purdue 2nd Annual Nearly Naked Mile today. I think something cool will come of that. More details to come for that one.

Taking the Young Pups to School

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I know that I’m making you proud with this picture CTK! This is just the type of picture that you want to see. Well you have to at least give me credit that I haven’t gotten old while at school. I can chug an Irish Car Bomb, beat the youngsters at it, and not spill on my shirt! If only all mothers could be so proud!

Just a nice sunset picture of Istanbul.

And some nice colors from the neon signs with the ferries lit up from the inside….

Back to the 1990s

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

So I went to my 1990s theme party feeling pretty lame with my “costume.” I didn’t feel like we truly dress that much different, alas we apparently do. I can’t say I was ever in vogue but apparently fashion flitted before my eyes without me realizing it. Good thing I know skimpy rugby shorts are always in (sorry didn’t wear em).

Emily is bound for life in West Lafayette for 3 more years. She is glad she matched but wishes there was a little bit more culture than just agriculture in the area.

Oh and the poor little girl’s name is “La dash a!” And we thought Zander was bad.
