I can’t really say which movie poster I like the best.
CTK I know that you said that you wanted to see it. I was definitely impressed with the cool legendary creatures and the scenery. The story was a little weak at times but visually it was really cool. I can say that I definitely enjoyed it.
RUGBY!

RUGBY! ( I realize this got uploaded just as the dudes midesction but I ain't going to change it.)

I also bought a ticket on Friday to go to the USA 7s in San Diego with a friend from Rochester. That should be fun. I’ll be the white pasty guy in San Diego from February 13-16. It should be a good Valentine’s Day :)

And Emily was just a walking disaster zone yesterday. Long story short, she spilled some very greasy sauce all over the floor that just happened to splash and get me while I was doing dishes. So she threw the kitchen rugs and my sock, sandal, and pants into the washer. Unfortuneately, the drain from the washer has a tendency to clog and back up some nice sewer water….right up into our apartment. Way to go! So then we had to deal with water invading our apartment …..again. Yes it’s happened before.

Also along the lines of the fantastical, one of my lab mates sent me a link to this.
It’s a pretty cool poem (well all but the ending really if you ask me), with some really cool illustrations. CTK I think you’ll like it. Everyone else might enjoy it as well.

And in wine class I learned the wine’s origin has been traced back to Georgia. And that the thing that Noah did after he let the animals off the ark on Mt Ararat in Turkey, he planted a vineyard. Then he got drunk and *ahem* was exposed to the whole world much to the chagrin of his family.

Needless to say a more frequent vacuuming schedule might be pertinent, but still it’s gross.
Cleaned house a bit today as it’s 10F outside, snowing and Cousinhead motivated me to clean.
Upon opening the vacuum canister a cloud of death did escape. It even formed a Death’s Head cloud before dissipating. So I’ll be dead soon from the biological weapon called our vacuum.

Ruins of Photography

I really like this picture. It is a great picture of me and some pretty ladies. There is just one freaking problem. Really the person taking the picture couldn’t have told said something?

I wanna say that I posted this before but couldn’t find it so maybe I’m not completely losing my mind.
I may have to edit the photo a bit or crop it (yuck). I have edited photos in the past with mediocre success.

Serpentines & Tilt Shift Photography

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Well Emily blew out (we think) her serpentine belt. I peaked under the hood and there was definitely a belt missing. So we dropped it off at Pep Boys to get fixed tomorrow. She’ll be a $130 lighter in the pocket though.
So I stumbled upon a tutorial for editing photos to make them look like the photo is taken of a model. They call it tilt shift photography. I attempted it here but I’m not sure how well it turned out. You be the judge.

I’m not dead yet…

I think Emily likes me. She cooked me dinner two nights in a row! Yesterday was a tasty pork chop with some mushrooms, russett potatoes, green beans and wine. And tonight was chili and wine and a movie! We watched “Young @ Heart”.

It’s about a bunch of Golden Oldies that sing concerts of rock songs. It’s pretty cool. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t terribly great but it was interesting. I did like one line. I’m not sure if it was part of a song lyric or not though. “We may be lost but we are making good time!”

Beer Bones….

On the Third Day of Negative Temperatures Jack Frost gave to me…

I sure screwed up when I took the day “off” and didn’t go in on Wednesday. That has been one of the warmer days all week. It’s just gotten colder ever since. I was even stupid enough to go out last night with some friends. But the bar was packed much to my surprise.
One photo is of the interior, one is of the exterior. One is in degrees Fahrenheit, the other is in degrees Celsius. I’ll let you decide.

Well the longjohns are going on again.
And yesterday I forgot my bike lock. I felt pretty confident that the bike wasn’t going to get stolen. Or if it was that it wasn’t going to get very far.

Damn Cold

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

It’s dang cold out. Haven’t left the house yet. Just found my old ski gloves so my hands don’t freeze on the ride in. Almost opted to leave the long underwear in the storage bin as well but thought it might be nice to have.
But at least there is snow! I love the snow.

First Day of the Last Semester of Classes!

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Holy Crap! It seems sorta melodramatic to not really have any classes the last semester.
Well I’m not really counting the wine appreciation class. CTK, remember when you told me that you wanted me to record the class so that you could listen to them and absorb the info? Well your prayers have been answered! The lectures are posted on iTunes! The crappy thing is you have to have iTunes installed. All you have to do is go here:
http://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/purdue.edu and then browse Agriculture and then head over to Food Science.
It never hurts to take a gander on your camera after a night of shenanigans. You never know what you’ll find.

Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?
No? Yeah, me neither.
But I have ridden home most of the way on ice covered sidewalks after a night out at the bars. I only “wrecked” once on the way back after drinking quite a bit yet on the way in I “wrecked” twice. So what does that tell you? Yeah. Hellifiknow either.
And why does Emily lock the door when she leaves in the morning but not at night when she doesn’t know if I’ll come home? Is she more afraid of my security than she is of her own?
Why do hot dog buns come in packages of 8 and hot dogs come in packages of 10? Yakko? Wakko? Dot? Bueller?
Yeah time for bed. Teddy, Blanky….be there in a little bit….
